World Class Motorcycling
If you want to enjoy the bliss of mountain roads on two wheels, then you would be hard-pressed to find a more convenient location. Two miles away is the start of the spectacular Richard B Russell Scenic Hwy which will wind you up and over mountains on your way to Helen. The beginning of Blood Mountain, as well as Wolf Pen Gap road, lies just 3 miles away. Take a spin over to TWO, one of the nicest motorcycle resorts you'll find, because it's only 15 miles away. If you want to really get out and explore, you can easily do a day trip over the Cherohala Skyway (62 miles away) and then hit up the world famous Deal's Gap, which is 80 beautiful miles to the north. At the end of the day, you can park your pride and joy under the back porch and out of the elements. There is also a hose, wash bucket, soap, and rags to get your machine cleaned up for the next day of twisties.

World Class Hiking
World class hiking awaits you in the N. Georgia mountains. If you feel like tackling the most famous trail of them all, head on up to the Appalachian Trail on Blood Mountain, only 8 miles away. There you will find the Walasi-Yi Interpretive Center, which has an excellent store for all things trail-related, and is also the only point on the entire trail where the AT passes through a man made structure.
If you would rather explore the path less traveled, you can select from from almost 20 trails in Union County alone, and hundreds more within the surrounding counties. A short drive from the cabin can put you on the rugged but picturesque Arkaquah Trail, several other sections of the Appalachian Trail, or the family-friendly Helton Creek Falls trail. An excellent resource to plan your hikes is on the GeorgiaTrails website.

World Class Fly-Fishing
You don't have to drive far to dip your feet in a mountain stream and start hauling in Rainbow, Brown or Brook trout. Nearby you will find the famous Waters Creek trophy trout stream (16 miles), Nottely River (9 miles), The Chattahoochee River near Helen (20 miles), Cooper Creek near Morganton (26 miles), Toccoa River near Blue Ridge (32 miles), and Chattooga River in Clayton (65 miles). There are several fly fishing shops in the area, including Unicoi Outfitters in Blue Ridge.

Below is a live view looking towards the cabin from the highest mountain in Georgia, Brasstown Bald, 4,784 feet above sea level. If the image is blurry or difficult to see, it is because of the everchanging weather conditions at the summit. Fog and clouds will often block the view. If you do not see an image at all, you might need to load a more current version of Java on your computer.
